Key Responsibilities of an Injection Moulding Technician
- Set up and adjust injection moulding machines and equipment according to established procedures to ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with moulds and machines and make effective repairs or adjustments as necessary to ensure production goals are met.
- Perform tool changes and mould maintenance activities to prevent production downtime and ensure product quality.
- Ensure that production runs are completed on schedule and that products meet or exceed customer specifications.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of products throughout the production process, performing in-process inspections and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Train and supervise production personnel to ensure that they understand and comply with established procedures and protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including production schedules, machine maintenance logs, and quality control reports.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe and productive work environment.
Key Requirements of an Injection Moulding Technician
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as in injection moulding, experience in a leadership role would be an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of the injection moulding process, including tool changes, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and supervise production personnel to ensure high-quality and efficient production.
- Experience with a range of materials with both hot runner and cold runner systems.
- Experience with quality control procedures, including in-process inspections and corrective actions.
- Strong computer skills, with experience using production software and Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and to meet production deadlines.
- Strong commitment to health and safety protocols, with a proven track record of promoting a safe and productive work environment.
- Experience with 3 axis / 6 axis robots.
