- Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:45pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 2:30pm

About the Role of a Laboratory Technician
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry Level Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college leaver, university graduate, or someone looking to start a career in laboratory science within a well-established manufacturing and technology-focused business.
The successful candidate will support laboratory testing, quality control activities, and research and development projects, working closely with experienced technical staff in a modern laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Laboratory Technician
- Prepare and test samples in accordance with laboratory procedures and quality standards.
- Carry out routine physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Accurately record, analyse, and report test results.
- Assist with research and development trials and product evaluations.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment under supervision.
- Ensure laboratory areas remain clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Follow company quality management systems and standard operating procedures.
- Support investigations into product quality issues and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Assist with sample preparation for customer and internal projects.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements of a Laboratory Technician
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Mathematics, English and Science.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to follow procedures and work methodically.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Requirements
- A-Level, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Science, Engineering or a related subject.
- Previous laboratory, manufacturing, or quality control experience.
- Knowledge of laboratory health and safety practices.
- Understanding of basic scientific testing techniques.

Working Environment
This role is based on-site within a laboratory and manufacturing environment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, and training will be given on all laboratory equipment and procedures.
