THE ROLE

  • Job – Quantity / Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Reporting in to Education Director
  • Cambridgeshire / Suffolk
  • (There will be an element of travel within the role)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide cost support and advice during the Pre-construction stage of a project.
  • Provide support and commercial guidance in the procurement of - key Sub-contractors and consultants.
  • Market testing at Tender stage to assist the Estimators
  • Prepare Cashflows & Milestone schedules as required for each project during the tender stage and update accordingly during the delivery of the project
  • Prepare, submit and agree client valuations which are to be submitted on time.
  • Dealing with contractual and legal matters.
  • Managing costs to make sure that the initial budget isn’t exceeded.
  • Agreeing sub-contract payments both during and at the end of a job, settling the final accounts.
  • Acting as financial advisors and monitoring progress for the client.
  • Ensure all project change is identified and all Programme and cost implications are identified and submitted to the client where relevant.
  • Prepare and submit internal monthly Cost, Value Reconciliations for each project that they are responsible for. These are to be submitted in a timely manner to coincide with the Monthly board reports.

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS

  • The candidate will be qualified to Degree/HND or HNC in Quantity Surveying or a similar commercial degree in construction.
  • RICS membership preferred.
  • A full valid driving licence
  • Ideally CSCS qualified
  • The candidate will need to demonstrate an appropriate level of experience in the construction industry as a Quantity / Senior Quantity Surveyor role for a national or regional main contractor.
