About the role
We are recruiting for a Service Advisor based in Hull, offering £12.69 per hour on a temporary contract with the option to potentially go permanent. This is a full time position working 8.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday.
This Service Advisor role is ideal for someone who thrives in a customer focused, fast paced environment and enjoys building strong relationships. As a Service Advisor, you will act as the key link between customers and the workshop, ensuring a smooth and professional service experience from start to finish. This opportunity would suit someone organised, confident and motivated to deliver high standards of customer service within the motor trade or automotive aftersales environment.
Key responsibilities
Act as a key point of contact for service customers, delivering a seamless and professional experience from vehicle check in through to post visit follow up.
Build trust with customers by understanding their needs and advising on safety critical repairs, maintenance work and manufacturer recommendations, ensuring clear explanations at all times.
Promote and sell additional work identified through electronic vehicle health checks, supporting customers to make informed decisions to keep their vehicles safe and roadworthy.
Support customer retention by promoting service care plans, forward booking future work and offering suitable aftersales solutions.
Liaise closely with Technicians to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and on time, keeping customers fully updated throughout the process.
Manage courtesy car bookings, vehicle collections and deliveries, and appointment scheduling to maintain smooth daily operations.
Maintain up to date knowledge of products and services to confidently represent the brand and maximise upselling opportunities.
Skills and experience required
Previous experience in a Service Advisor, customer service advisor or automotive aftersales role.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly and accurately.
Ability to work to targets and meet KPIs in a busy, fast paced environment.
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
Confident IT skills including Microsoft Office and dealership management systems.
A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
