QHSE Manager
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:00am–3:45pm, Friday 6:00am–1:00pm
A well-established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to take ownership of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental functions within a busy production environment.
This is a highly hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being on the shop floor as well as leading and developing a small quality team. The successful candidate will manage two Quality Inspectors and a Quality Engineer, while driving continuous improvement across quality systems, manufacturing processes and product development.
Key Responsibilities of QHSE Manager
- Lead and manage the QHSE function across the manufacturing operation
- Maintain and develop the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Work closely with production, engineering and product development teams to ensure quality standards are met
- Provide technical support relating to welding, fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Oversee quality inspection and testing activities, including supplier and internal audits
- Support product and process improvement initiatives across the business
- Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across the site
Candidate Requirements of a QHSE Manager
- Strong background in manufacturing or heavy engineering environments
- Experience with welding, fabrication and flux-based processes
- Solid understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems
- Exposure to manufacturing engineering and product development
- NDT knowledge or experience would be beneficial
- Metallurgical training or understanding would be highly advantageous
- Proven experience leading or mentoring quality personnel
