Van Driver

Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour

Working Pattern: Tuesday to Saturday
Start Time: 06:00
Hours: 8–10 hour shifts
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Van Driver to join our client's busy home delivery operation based in Harworth, DN11. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on the road, delivering exceptional customer service, and working as part of a professional two-person delivery team.
This is a temporary position with the potential for the assignment to be extended for candidates who demonstrate reliability, excellent attendance, and a strong work ethic.
The Role
As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of DIY and home improvement products directly to customers' homes across the local and surrounding areas. You will be paired with a dedicated driver's mate who will assist with unloading, carrying products, and completing deliveries safely and efficiently.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Driving a Luton or Sprinter van safely and professionally.
- Completing multi-drop home deliveries to residential customers.
- Working alongside a driver's mate to ensure deliveries are completed efficiently and safely.
- Loading and unloading goods while following safe manual handling practices.
- Carrying DIY products into customers' homes where required.
- Regular manual handling and heavy lifting as part of the delivery process.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
- Following planned delivery routes and ensuring deliveries are completed on schedule.
- Completing delivery paperwork and using handheld devices where required.
- Providing excellent customer service while maintaining a professional attitude at every delivery.
- Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company health and safety procedures.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A full UK manual driving licence.
- Previous experience driving Luton or Sprinter vans (essential).
- No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
- No DR, DU, IN, TT or MS endorsements due to insurance requirements.
- Be physically fit and capable of carrying out regular manual handling and heavy lifting throughout your shift.
- Previous multi-drop or home delivery experience is advantageous.
- Good geographical knowledge and confident navigation skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A positive attitude, strong reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Be available to work Tuesday to Saturday, with a 06:00 start time and 8–10 hour shifts.
