Class 1 HGV Driver (C+E) – Nights
Location: Wakefield
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Hours: 22:00 – 06:00
Pay Rate: £17.35 per hour
Pay: Weekly – every Friday
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 1 (C+E) HGV Night Driver to join a well-established operation based in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for a consistent Monday to Friday role with regular hours, competitive pay and no manual handling.
The Role
As a Class 1 Night Driver, you will be responsible for moving trailers between company sites, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Your shift will typically involve:
- Completing collections and deliveries to 3–5 different sites during each shift.
- Coupling and uncoupling trailers safely.
- Conducting vehicle and trailer safety checks before and during your shift.
- Ensuring all paperwork and electronic records are completed accurately.
- Complying with all driver hours, Working Time Directive and road traffic regulations.
- Maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service when visiting sites.
This is a trunking and trailer movement role, meaning there is no handballing or manual unloading involved. You'll spend your shift driving between sites rather than carrying out physically demanding work.
What We're Looking For
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A valid Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence.
- A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- A good understanding of drivers' hours legislation and tachograph regulations.
- A professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety.
- Good time management and reliability.
