Position: M&E Design Engineer
Department: Operations
Reporting to: Senior Management
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £35,000 (commensurate with experience and responsibility)
Job Summary
We are seeking an M&E Design Engineer with experience in Solar PV, electrical, or mechanical design. The role involves supporting both sales and operations through accurate design proposals and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Liaise with sales teams, M&E contractors, and consultants to gather project information
- Run PVSol (or similar software) to determine yields
- Produce rooftop layout drawings in AutoCAD 2D, including:
- Panel positioning
- Cable routing
- Panel positioning
- Design mounting systems using specialist software
- Create electrical schematics (with support from in-house Electrical Engineer if required)
- Develop wall area drawings for equipment placement
- Perform inverter capability and string layout design
- Research and recommend new technologies for cost savings
- Provide "as-installed" drawings on project completion
Training can be provided where necessary, but competence in AutoCAD is expected.

Package & Benefits
- Salary up to £35,000
- Working hours: 7:30am-4:30pm or 8:00am-5:00pm, with 1:30pm finish on Fridays
