We’re looking for an experienced Production Team Leader to oversee operations at our busy Modification Centre in Rotherham.
The Role of a Production Team Leader
You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, leading a team of skilled staff, and ensuring high standards of productivity, quality, and customer focus. This is a varied role that combines people management, production planning, and hands-on technical work.
Hours
Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm.
Key Objectives of a Production Team Leader
- Motivate, engage, and develop direct reports
- Support and champion a culture of customer centricity
- Maintain strong productivity and deliver on agreed KPIs
- Ensure compliance with 6S principles and H&S standards
- Drive performance, efficiency, and on-time delivery
What You’ll Do as a Production Team Leader
- Lead, support, and develop a team through 1-2-1s, appraisals, and training
- Attend production planning meetings and manage workload scheduling
- Oversee stock checks, consumables requisitions, and order booking
- Ensure on-time delivery and excellent housekeeping within the Mod Centre
- Manage holidays and resources to minimise business impact
- Contribute to team strategies, continuous improvement, and recruitment
- Read engineering drawings and carry out product assembly tasks
- Operate equipment such as milling machines, wall saws, and stud welders
- Provide technical support to customers via phone/email
About You
- Proven experience leading a production or assembly team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Hands-on experience in an assembly or machining environment
- Comfortable with stock control systems and production planning
- Skilled in operating general tooling; milling experience is desirable
- Flexible, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement
- Able to comply with product safety standards and H&S regulations
- Willing to travel to customer sites if required
