Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role within the Commercial Team, delivering cost control, contract management, and financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle. You will support both pre- and post-contract activities to ensure that projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue regular Account Development Reviews to clients
- Produce, submit, and manage Applications for Payment, ensuring timely client approvals
- Prepare and settle Final Accounts within two months of project completion
- Recover retention and manage retention processes
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers and Site Managers to understand site progress and commercial issues
- Issue Sub-Contract Works Orders and manage variations
- Measure and monitor Sub-Contractor performance through regular site visits
- Review and approve Sub-Contractor Applications for Payment; issue Payment Certificates
- Authorise purchase orders and manage payment receipting
- Manage Sub-Contractor final accounts and prepare re-measurement reports as required
- Produce commercial reports for the Commercial Manager and contribute to monthly CPR meetings
- Person Specification
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
- Strong experience using MS Office, especially Excel and Word
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial awareness
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Experience in construction—ideally within modular or off-site building environments
