Role Responsibilities of a Technical Sales Engineer
You will manage and develop sales in line with the UK business plan, supported by internal technical, production, and customer service teams.
- Managing and developing sales with existing accounts while generating new business.
- Creating structured visit plans using CRM and sales data, focusing on priority customers.
- Identifying opportunities, solving customer application problems, and providing technical advice.
- Negotiating and reviewing contracts, ensuring effective and profitable customer relationships.
- Reporting market intelligence and completing accurate CRM-based sales reports.
- Managing territory efficiently with strong time and travel planning.
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure excellent service and on-time delivery.
- Attending sales meetings, quarterly reviews, and completing required training (internal/external, face-to-face or online).
Specification of a Technical Sales Engineer
- Experience in technical sales, field engineering, or industrial account management.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, belting, or automation is beneficial.
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work independently across a large geographic area.
- Full UK driving licence.
