Mobile HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic (Sweepers, tankers and spray tankers)
Salary: Up to £25.00ph
Area: Covering Cambridge, London, Milton Keynes & Peterborough
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am – 5pm (Plus 1 in every 3 / 4 weeks on call)
Contract Type: Permanent
This is a family run business and you will be hands-on, mobile role carrying out on-site servicing, repairs, and breakdown support across our coverage area.
You will primarily be working on tankers, sweepers, and spray tankers, so previous experience with these vehicle types is highly desirable.
£1,000 sign-up bonus available for candidates with relevant tanker/sweeper experience.
What You’ll Get:
- Up to £25.00 per hour (Depending on experience)
- Company van, fuel card and tablet included
- On-call rota (1 in 3 / 4 weeks) £15 per day for being on-call
- £1000 sign on bonus if have experience working on sweeper, tankers, spray tankers
- Training opportunities include Irtec, Forklift, HGV licence
- 22 days holiday plus bank holidays
What You’ll Be Doing as a Mobile HGV Technician:
- Mobile servicing, maintenance, and breakdown repairs
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on HGVs and specialist equipment
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard and returned to service safely and efficiently
- Carry out detailed inspections to identify mechanical and electrical faults
- Diagnose issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
- Repair and maintain engines, braking systems, transmissions, hydraulics, and associated components
- Complete routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and safety checks
- Accurately record work completed, parts used, and service reports
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety and industry regulations
What We’re Looking For:
- Experienced HGV Technician with strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or time-served experience)
- Experience working on sweepers, tankers and spray tankers
- Comfortable working on your own and managing your time
- A full UK driving licence
