HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
Location: Motherwell
Shift: Monday to Friday | 7:30am – 5:30pm
Salary: £44,460
Contract: Permanent
We are currently looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join the growing fleet workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern fleet environment, maintaining and repairing a mixed fleet of trucks and vans including Isuzu, Renault, DAF, and MAN vehicles.
Based in a newly built 4-bay workshop, you will be joining a supportive and experienced team consisting of 4 technicians, 2 apprentices, and a dedicated refrigeration engineer. This role offers an excellent work-life balance with no contractual weekend work.
The Role
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vans
- Diagnose faults efficiently using modern diagnostic equipment
- Perform inspections, MOT preparation, and preventative maintenance
- Ensure all work is completed to high safety and quality standards
- Work collaboratively within the workshop team to maintain fleet availability
- Support apprentices where required and contribute to a positive workshop culture
- Complete job cards and paperwork accurately
About You
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician
- Experience working on brands such as DAF, MAN, Renault Trucks, Isuzu, or similar commercial vehicles
- Relevant Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
- A team player with a proactive and reliable approach
- Full UK driving licence
