HGV Technician
Location: Sudbury
Salary: £48,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 4:00pm
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established and growing transport operation in Sudbury.
Working Monday to Friday on a day shift, you'll be responsible for maintaining a modern fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and reliability.
This role offers a great work-life balance with no shift work, a competitive salary of £48,000, and the opportunity to work on a fleet of modern vehicles from leading manufacturers including DAF, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo.
The Role
- Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Completing inspections and preventative maintenance work
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained to DVSA and company standards
- Supporting MOT preparation and compliance requirements
- Maintaining accurate service and repair records
- The majority of work will be carried out on the company's own fleet, with occasional external customer work providing additional variety.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, LGV Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Technician
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience working on trucks and trailers
- Relevant qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair are advantageous
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
