Quality Controller
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–4:30pm; Friday, 8:00am–2:00pm
Location: Barnsley
We are recruiting an experienced and proactive Quality Controller to join a well-established manufacturing business operating within a heavy industrial environment.
This is a hands-on shopfloor role for a Quality Controller who can lead from the front, maintain high quality standards, and support a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, support and develop a small quality team
- Deliver training and guidance to new starters
- Work hands-on within a heavy industrial shopfloor environment
- Carry out quality checks and inspections throughout the manufacturing process
- Ensure quality procedures and standards are consistently followed
- Support continuous improvement and help resolve quality-related issues
- Maintain and develop quality documentation and processes
- Work with and effectively use the company’s management system
- Ensure compliance with relevant ISO standards
About You
The successful Quality Controller will have:
- Previous experience in a Quality Controller or similar quality-focused role
- Experience of managing or supervising a small team
- The ability to train and support new starters
- A hands-on approach and confidence working on a busy shopfloor
- Experience within heavy industry or a manufacturing environment
- Good working knowledge of relevant ISO standards and quality systems
- Confidence using a management system to record, monitor and manage quality information
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of quality standards
