Your responsibilities:

• Work with the Senior Leadership team including the Technical Manager, SHEQ Manager, Programme Manager and Purchasing Manager.

• To work with the Site Managers, Contracts Managers and head office team, ensure that the programmes are being met , Plan ahead to ensure schemes are delivered on time, direct and coordinate to ensure targets and activities are met concerned with the construction of the schemes and systems Management of All aspects of Health & Safety on site.

• Maintain a good relationship with the client and community around the project

• Work closely with the Buying department and make sure all long lead materials are requested in a timely manner, ensure that the SM / CM are following the correct description or specification of the materials.

• Raise any concerns related to the Project or Company with the Contracts Managers / Site Managers and clients and address them efficiently and fairly.

• Ensure any temporary works have the necessary design and are installed in accordance with the design. - - – Ensure that the CM / Programme Manager Produce 2-week look ahead programmes for site managers, operatives and sub-contractors – review and comment on areas of programme that can be moved forward to avoid delays where possible. Early project handover should be targeted where ever possible.

• Ensure & monitor that the site based team carry out the below:

• Ensure all operatives have signed a daily safe start, are inducted, have the relevant permit for their works, receive weekly tool box talks and are working to the appropriate risk assessments and method statements
• Ensure the works are planned out in a logical manner paying particular attention to materials storage, deliveries, plant and traffic movements, craneage and any other site logistics
• Management of plant to ensure it is ordered in advance, used efficiently, tracked while on site and off-hired when no longer required
• Manage labour resources and ensure these do not exceed the labour forecast for the project Ensure all materials are taken off, ordered and delivered to site in advance of any works
• Ensure all managers/engineers and sub-contractors are working to the latest construction issue information
• Liaise with the senior engineer on site to ensure that all setting out is done in good time
• Ensure all the relevant QA is completed by the engineers, as well as any sub-contractors working under you Hold weekly progress meetings with the site team and subcontractors and report to the Directors on progress of works against programme on a regular basis.

Experience: (But not essential)

• NVQ L6 in Construction Management, or equivalent Valid CSCS black card and SMSTS
• Good understanding and knowledge of Construction standards and Building Regulations (Part B)
• 15 years Previous experience within the industry with minimum of 5 years in a similar position
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to use MS programmes including Excel to an intermediate level
