Internal Communications Executive

Our client, a technology business near Wakefield, is looking for an Internal Communications and Engagement Executive to join their team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.

Providing key support to the Communications & Engagement Partner, you will deliver effective internal communications through a variety of channels, bringing fresh ideas, engaging copywriting, and plenty of creative flair.

The successful candidate will be a natural storyteller with an impeccable eye for detail and a whizz at all things photoshop.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day to day internal communications, activities and processes
  • Write, edit and proofread content for the employee newsletter, digital signage, manager briefings and events.
  • Develop messaging and copy for internal channels to ensure all employees are informed and engaged in company strategy, performance, brand and culture
  • Plan and execute communication campaigns using metrics to measure their success
  • Manage the communications inbox and quickly respond to queries
  • Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders across all departments
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously as well as event logistics and planning
  • Work with colleagues in the broader People team to align messaging and contribute to wider team projects

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS

  • 2-3 years experience in an internal or corporate communications role
  • A degree in Communications, PR or related field (preferred but not essential)
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent copywriting abilities with a genuine enthusiasm for creative writing
  • Graphic design skills - Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator)
  • A real eye for detail with impeccable spelling and grammar
  • Time management and project coordination skills
  • Technical knowledge of key communication channels including intranet, print, digital and social media
  • Experience in a similar role with the ability to write and think creatively
  • Strong team player who is used to working collaboratively
  • Able to work to strict deadlines without compromising on work quality
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and willing to learn
  • Confidence to contribute and challenge ideas
  • Uses initiative to problem solve
  • A natural ability to develop strong relationships

JOB DETAILS

  • Job Type: Full-time, Fixed term contract
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Work remotely: Temporarily due to COVID-19, Post-COVID a combination of office and remote work
