Hours

  • Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 3.30 pm

  • Fridays 7.30 am to 2.30 pm

General:

  • Identify and solve minor problems online with colleagues.
  • Working at height on library stairs or MEWPS.
  • Use good communication during changeover/handovers with colleagues.
  • Understand and contribute to departmental goals
  • Be actively involved in departmental projects.
  • Good receiving – Unloading, unpacking and checking.
  • Stock control – Re-stack and re-order materials
  • Distribute materials to lineside.
  • Timber Processing

  • Cutting timber and board materials to size using appropriate cutting equipment.
  • Operating pneumatic and electrical plant and equipment, including hand tools.
  • Preparing frames/joist sub-assemblies, this will involve manual handing (joists, studs and large panels) using overhead cranes and vac-lifters etc.
  • Floor/Ceiling Framing

  • Making floor/ceiling panels using semi-automated framing equipment and hand tools, this will involve manual handing (joists, studs and large panels) using overhead cranes and vac-lifters etc.
  • Insulating cavities and surfaces with acoustic/thermal materials using hand tools.
  • Fitting M&E services and sub-assemblies within cavities using hand tools.
  • Cladding panels with sheet materials using semi-automated framing equipment and hand tools.
  • Fitting vapour/breather/weatherproof membranes.
  • Wall Framing

  • Making wall panels using semi-automated framing equipment and hand tools, will involve manual handing (joists, studs and large panels) using overhead cranes and vac-lifters etc.
  • Insulating cavities and surfaces with acoustic/thermal materials using hand tools.
  • Fitting M&E services and sub-assemblies within cavities using hand tools.
  • Cladding panels with sheet materials using semi-automated framing equipment and hand tools.
  • Fitting vapour/breather/weatherproof membranes.
  • Fitting window/door components using hand tools. Box Assembly -
  • Assembly of external and internal wall, floors and ceilings to form discrete modules using hand tools and overhead lifting equipment.
  • Fitting of doors/windows using hand tools.
  • Initial placement of large sub-assemblies into modules using overhead cranes.
  • Part sealing and part wrapping of the airtight system using hand tools.
  • Fitting M&E services and sub-assemblies within cavities using hand tools.
  • Finishing Line

  • Fitting of doors/windows using hand tools.
  • Final placement of large sub-assemblies within modules using plant, hand tools overhead cranes.
  • Part sealing and part wrapping of the airtight system using hand tools.
  • Fitting M&E services and sub-assemblies within cavities using hand tools.

Qualifications

  • Previous Experience of Working on a production Line/Assembly Line (Desirable)
  • Have a Practical Nature ie Joinery, Plumbing, Roofing or Trades Background (Desirable)
  • Ability To Follow Simple Instruction From Piers and Communicate With Work Colleagues Effectively ( Essential)
