My client are operating out of state of the art manufacturing facilities based near Leeds. They are looking to massively grow their team across the business over the next 12 months.   • You will be required to work on a rotating shift basis

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To play a key role in a small team of Quality Inspectors
  • To conduct first article inspections on new products to ensure compliance to engineering drawings, specifications & standards
  • To conduct dimensional & cosmetic goods in & lineside product inspections on a range of product types to ensure compliance to engineering drawings, specifications & standards
  • To operate as the “voice of the customer” within the manufacturing environment
  • To ensure that detailed records of inspection are documented & maintained
  • To control monitoring & measuring inspection equipment to ensure that calibration intervals are maintained
  • To define, document & control quality inspection & validation processes, procedures & product acceptance specifications
  • To support Production & Manufacturing Engineering in driving down production defects, costs & lead times
  • To ensure continued compliance to the requirements of NHBC, Building Regulations, BOPAS, ISO9001, ISO45001 and other statutory regulations used in modern methods of construction
  • Demonstrate strict adherence & compliance with defined Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies & procedures, ensuring that HSE is at the heart of the business culture & that your actions & behaviours in fulfilling your role lead to zero harm & a safe working environment for colleagues & visitors


  • GCSE’s in Science, English & Mathematics
  • Any qualifications in relevant processes are advantageous (e.g. BTEC, HND, NVQ or equivalent)
  • Any trade-based qualifications are advantageous (e.g. Plumbing, Electrics, Painting & Decorating, Joinery etc)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read & interpret architectural & engineering drawings
  • Ability to produce accurate dimensional & First Article Inspection reports
  • Able to demonstrate quality inspections in a manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings & to interpret & understand tolerances
  • Ability to identify non-conforming products
  • Basic knowledge of Non-Conformances & Concessions/Production Permits
  • Ability to identify & understand the root cause of dimensional variation & product quality issues
  • Good judgement & decision-making skills
  • Good communications skills & ability to work well with other trades / departments
  • Knowledge of Quality & Health & Safety behaviours in a factory environment
  • Basic understanding of ISO9001, ISO45001, NHBC & BOPAS requirements
  • PC literate (MS Office
