Quality Inspector

THE ROLE

  • Quality Inspector
  • Lincolnshire
  • Salary Negotiable

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect and approve incoming components and reject and return unacceptable materials
  • Inspect in-process assembly by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurable tests
  • Work closely with the R&D & Production Engineering teams on NPI projects, creating robust inspection plans and QC documentation
  • Ensure all quality procedures are followed by production operatives
  • Assist the Quality Manager with annual ISO audits and maintenance of the QMS
  • Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining master samples and quality documentation on the shop floor
  • Reject and quarantine all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
  • Assist the Quality Manager to ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained in accordance with requirements
  • Report inspection and production KPIs (First Pass Yield, Scrap, Downtime etc) to the Quality Manager
  • Resolve all quality-related issues in a timely manner to avoid delays during production
  • Monitor and report on in-process assembly scrap and rework
  • Champion 5S and continual improvement activities (desirable)
  • Involvement in resolving non-conformances issues following the 8D methodology (desirable)

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge of AS 9100 Quality Management Systems (desirable)
  • Strong technical background & can read engineering drawings
  • Experience and/or knowledge of component measurement techniques.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) and comfortable analysing, preparing, and presenting data
  • Able to work autonomously without supervision
  • Can prioritise tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process controls in a range of manufacturing categories
  • Problem solving tools, 8D, 5Ys (desirable)
  • Auditor with experience of product & process audits (desirable)
  • Structured and analytical
  • Team player
  • Decisive
  • Proactive mindset
