Site Manager

Venatu Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a successful and reputable growing contractor based in Barnsley who are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their business, within the Power, Civil Engineering and Construction sectors.

THE ROLE

  • Site Manager
  • Yorkshire
  • £35,000 - £40,000 plus car / allowance, bonus, health care or freelance considered
    • Permanent / Freelance

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring, project progress including updating / revising construction programmes.
    • Overall records management of all project management files including office and site-based records.
    • Responsible for operating in a customer focussed service by dealing politely with customers, ensuring a seamless service and always keeping the customer informed of progress and actions.
    • Maintain awareness of policies and procedures which impact on how the service is delivered (especially health & safety, environmental and quality requirements).
    • Take a lead role in the procurement of materials, plant and subcontractor agreements.
    • For materials and plant this entails the preparing and issuing of requisitions to the Buyer for ordering.
    • Be responsible for delivering toobox talks, RAMS and making sure Method Statements are fully complied with.
    • All aspects of contract monitoring including site visits, reporting, drawings, photographic evidence, recording of variations and extra works for submission to Commercial Manager.
    • Monitoring procurement process through the production of supplier and subcontractor requirement schedules and weekly reports.

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS

  • Operational day to day management and co-ordination of the project management related functions covering project and commercial management of contracts, set up of contract records, preparation and submission of construction programmes.
  • Take a lead role in the procurement of materials, plant and subcontractor agreements. For materials and plant this entails the preparing and issuing of requisitions to the Buyer for ordering. For subcontractors this includes enquiries, price comparisons, negotiation, placing of order and final account agreement.
  • All aspects of contract monitoring including site visits, reporting, drawings, photographic evidence, recording of variations and extra works for submission to Commercial Manager.
  • Monitoring procurement process through the production of supplier and subcontractor requirement schedules and weekly reports.
  • Monitoring, project progress including updating / revising construction programmes.
  • Overall records management of all project management files including office and site-based records.
  • Responsible for operating in a customer focussed service by dealing politely with customers, ensuring a seamless service and always keeping the customer informed of progress and actions.

  • Attendance at team, commercial and production, subcontractor, client/contractor and onsite meetings.
