As Technical Engineer you will improve product quality and efficiency in production, ensuring the company is supported with the appropriate tools and testing equipment. To have a good understanding of the product range and technical aspects relating to electrical circuitry and related technical disciplines. Liaising with suppliers and QA to ensure components and processes meet the company’s quality expectations and where necessary reporting failures to the Technical Director. To primarily focus on improving the test procedures by way of designing and producing test jigs and working instructions.

  • Improve, design & produce production test equipment.
  • Have an excellent understanding of how all machinery operates and where necessary test, repair, or arrange the repair of any non-complying equipment.
  • Where necessary liaise with suppliers & QA to improve quality standards.
  • Formulate technical datasheets detailing manufacturing processes.
  • Train production staff best-practice technical processes.
  • Install/improve company assets and facilities.
  • Understand and undertake testing of finished product utilising water spray chamber, dust chamber, vibration rig, climate chamber, and photometric laboratory.


  • Systematically & regularly checks all electrical equipment ‘test dates’ are up to date.
  • COSHH assessments (for chemical usage)
  • Risk assessments (for company machinery/tools)
  • Quality assurance and Quality control
  • Understand the ISO9001:2015 QA processes and procedures to ensure a good understanding of the overall company process and procedure.
  • Integrate and communicate with QA to ensure all relevant production departments meet the objectives set for ISO certification.
  • Where necessary liaise with suppliers & QA to improve quality standards.
  • Can hold meetings with suppliers regarding non-conformities.
  • Have the ability to undertake ISO quality inspections and audits unsupervised.


  • Develop process improvements in the company with the integration of further use of robotics within production.
  • Integrate the use of Arduino programming for both test and observation requirements within production sections.
  • Review the potential in-house requirements for laser-cutting and/or CNC technology for use within production processes to improve efficiency and reduce out-sourcing.


  • Display a positive can-do attitude, able to work on your own and to a high level of detail.
  • Be organised and able to plan and prioritise workloads depending on the needs of the company and have a good working knowledge of all products to assist customer queries.
  • Display good interpersonal skills and able to work as part of the wider team.
  • Have the ability and initiative to work without direct supervision.
