About the Role:
We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to take technical responsibility for a major £10 million+ civil engineering project in Avonmouth. In this role, you’ll supervise 2–4 section engineers and drive excellence across safety, quality, design, and construction methods. Reporting to: Project Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and approve method statements and risk assessments, ensuring safety for the public and workforce.
- Manage quality control, inspections, and testing in line with contract requirements.
- Lead dimensional control, ensuring accuracy in construction.
- Oversee the design process, manage external design teams, and approve drawings.
- Coordinate temporary works and act as Temporary Works Coordinator/Inspector.
- Continuously improve construction methods, software, and safety practices.
- Record and manage client changes and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Provide technical support, mentoring, and leadership to engineering teams.
About You:
- Proven experience in civil engineering design and site management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in managing construction methods, quality systems, and temporary works.
- Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
